RALLY AT QUEEN'S PARK WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!!

Thanks to all who helped organize and those who attended the rally at Queen's Park on April 29th to SAVE OUR HOSPITAL! 15 buses left from Fort Erie with close to 800 people on board and were joined by thousands of others from communities such as Port Colborne, Petrolia, Wallaceburg, Tillsonburg, Burk's Falls, Cambridge, Hamilton, Lambton County and Welland. All of the Fort Erie buses were sponsored by local organizations or businesses - way to go! The Alliance of Municipalities developed a five point action plan that is being put forward to the government. The 14,000 signatures were also read into the Legislature by MPP Craitor. Here are a few pictures.

Reason for meeting: Dr. Kitts, the expert advisor reviewing the Niagara Health System Hospital Improvement Plan and his team heard from speakers on the importance of keeping the Douglas Memorial Hospital open. As the meeting was restricted to two hours, the Mayor's Task Force, including former Mayors Wayne Redekop and John Teal, asked a cross-section of our community to be key speakers at the event.
