Major Events: 14 May US raid on Dover - village of Dover, Ryerse's Mill and Finch's Mill burnt; 3 Jul US (Brown) invades across Niagara River above and below Fort Erie - British surrender Fort Erie; 5 Jul Battle of Chippawa; 8 Jul British (Riall) retreat from Chippawa to Fort George; US (Brown) advance to Queenston with skirmishers out as far as McFarland's - Brown is waiting for the US fleet before investing Fort George; 19 Jul US (Stone) capture St Davids and burn the village - Stone is dismissed from the army by Brown for burning the village; 21 Jul US raid on Port Talbot; 22 Jul Brown retires to Chippawa; 25 Jul Battle of Lundy's Lane - US retires to Fort Erie with British following slowly; US reinforce Fort Erie extending works to Snake Hill - British (Drummond) begin siege batteries; 4 Aug British attack on Black Creek/Buffalo defeated at Conquichity(Conjocta) Creek; 5 Aug Gaines takes command of US troops at Fort Erie; 13 Aug British Navy (Dobbs) cut out 2 of 3 US schooners anchoring the US lines at Snake hill - 3rd schooner goes to Erie; 15 Aug British assault on Fort Erie fails; skirmishing continues as British advance siege lines closer to Fort Erie; 10 Sep Brown resumes command at Fort Erie; 17 Sep US sortie from Fort Erie to capture British siege guns is repulsed.

Local Events: British reconnaissance down Ridge Road to Haun's and then down the lake shore to determine extent of US positions; British Navy (Dobbs) bring boats from Chippawa to Miller's Creek and then down creek until it became unnavigable - then they carry the boats down Ridge Road to bay under Point Abino prior to cutting out US schooners off Snake Hill.
