Major Events: 22 Jan 1813 US defeated at River Raisin; March 1813 US Constitution defeats HMS Java; 27 Apr US captures York; 8 May US fleet at Niagara bring troops from York, fleet departs for Sackett's Harbor; 21 May US fleet back at Niagara with more troops; 25 May US artillery bombardment of Fort George and Newark; 27 May US takes Fort George, British begin retreat to Burlington Heights; 27 May British militia either dismissed to return to homes or accompany regulars to Burlington Heights; 28 May failed British attack on Sackett's Harbor.
